José Mauricio Liévano Mejía advises clients on contract negotiation and execution, as well as full regulatory compliance, with a special emphasis on data privacy and personal data protection regulations, including the implementation of industry best practices.

He brings over six years of experience in negotiating commercial contracts, as well as negotiating and executing M&A transactions across various economic sectors. He has participated in landmark transactions, including the acquisition of Nutresa, among others.

He holds a Law Degree and a Postgraduate Specialization in Banking and Capital Markets Law (Derecho Financiero y Mercado de Valores) from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Additionally, he completed executive education coursework in Legal English and the U.S. Legal System at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and in Internet Law and Economics & Two-Sided Markets at the University of Chicago. 

He served as an Adjunct Professor in the Civil Law Department at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana from 2019 to 2020.
